Glasgow, Scotland is a city known for its rich history.
But now, as part of its digital marketing programme, Glasgow is offering free online courses for anyone to take online.
Glasgow’s Digital Marketing Certificate Programme is a new initiative which aims to help those who want to learn how to sell their digital marketing to clients.
It’s part of the Glasgow City Council’s Digital Strategy, which aims “to increase Scotland’s position in the digital economy and promote digital citizenship”.
The courses are being offered through the Glasgow Digital Partnership.
They’ll teach students how to design an online course, deliver it on the web, and then make it available to others.
Glennie C. Smith, who manages the Glasgow-based digital marketing company TheGlasco Marketing, said the courses are part of a new campaign for the city.
“There are a lot of different areas of the world that are struggling with the challenges of digital marketing.
I think the digital landscape is starting to take on a whole new life for people in the Glasgow area,” she said.”
And so we’ve had this opportunity to work with the city and the City of Glasgow to provide the courses that will help them to be able to make that transition.”
In addition to the course, the City Council has launched a digital advertising campaign.
“The Digital Marketing Campaign will offer Glasgow residents free access to the courses to help them prepare for the next stage of their digital journey,” it said.
“To learn more about this campaign and its goals, please see the full digital marketing plan here: Digital Marketing Plan.”
Glaswegian Digital Marketing CourseGlaisdair, an online program, offers a one-on-one approach to helping new digital marketers find their footing.
“I think we’re very lucky to be in Glasgow.
The city has been a place where the internet has been here for a very long time,” said co-founder Pauline Henshaw.”
So it’s just really good to be here and see the growth and the growth in the online world that’s happening, and the opportunities that we see for people to come to Scotland and be part of this,” she added.
The Glasgow-focused Glasgow Digital Strategy is a collaborative effort between the City and Glasgow City Councillors, which has focused on helping to develop the digital infrastructure needed to facilitate growth in digital industries in the region.
The City’s digital strategy is the first step in the city’s plan to make it a more attractive place for people and businesses to live and work.
“We’re seeing a lot more digital jobs and a lot less manufacturing jobs coming back into Scotland,” said Hensaw.
“And so it’s important that we have the infrastructure to allow for that, to create jobs and provide a competitive advantage for people who want those jobs.”
